The 2017 American superhero movie Justice League, which was based on the superhero team from DC Comics, was produced by Cruel and Unusual Films, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, Atlas Entertainment, Warner Bros. Pictures, and DC Films. The film, which is the fifth entry in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), was co-written and directed by Zack Snyder and features a cast that includes Ray Fisher, Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, and others. After Superman’s death, Batman and Wonder Woman team up with Aquaman, Cyborg, and The Flash to take on Steppenwolf and his army of Parademons. This takes place after the events of Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

George Miller oversaw the start of the live-action Justice League movie project in 2007, but it was shelved because of financial constraints and production hold-ups. The main photography window for 2016 was April through October. Following Snyder’s exit from the project, Whedon oversaw post-production and made adjustments to the film’s narrative and tone. Justice League under-performed at the box office, earning $661.3 million worldwide despite an estimated $300 million production budget, just short of the $750 million break-even figure.

The movie had mixed reviews and was criticised for its story, pacing, villain characterization, director, photography, and computer graphics. Following fan campaigns for Snyder’s original vision, a director’s cut named Zack Snyder’s Justice League was published on HBO Max in March 2021. Whedon’s substantial presence in post-production, especially in reshoots, garnered scathing criticism.

Justice League Movie Storyline

Using the combined might of the Mother Boxes, the despot Steppenwolf and his Parademons made an attempt to take over Earth thousands of years ago. But the Olympian Gods, the Amazons, the Atlanteans, humans, and extraterrestrials formed a strong coalition that foiled their plans. To avoid abuse, the Mother Boxes were divided and concealed all around the world.

Following Superman’s selfless demise, which roused the sleeping Mother Boxes, Steppenwolf reappears with a sinister plan. After warning her daughter Diana about the danger, Queen Hippolyta convinces her to team up with Bruce Wayne. Along with Barry Allen (The Flash), Victor Stone (Cyborg), and Arthur Curry (Aquaman), they set out to bring the metahumans together in order to stop Steppenwolf from collecting the Mother Boxes and releasing “The Unity,” a catastrophic event that would alter Earth.

As they try to protect the Mother Boxes and stave off Steppenwolf’s ferocious pursuit, the group encounters difficulties. Following the events of Batman’s scheme to use a Mother Box to resuscitate Superman, there is a turbulent reunion when Superman first regains life without his memories and needs Lois Lane’s help to regain his sense of self.

A pivotal battle breaks out when the heroes meet at Steppenwolf’s Russian stronghold with Superman back in the fray. The group successfully thwarts Steppenwolf’s devastating scheme after Superman arrives, turning the tide. Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince create a base for the newly established superhero team in the aftermath.

Team members go back to their different responsibilities as things get back to normal. Superman resumes his dual existence as Earth’s saviour and reporter Clark Kent, Diana and Arthur take up their heroic duties, Barry lands a position in the Central City police force, and Victor keeps developing his skills with his father at S.T.A.R. Labs.

A post-credits scenario in which the freed Lex Luthor enlists the lethal Slade Wilson (Deathstroke) raises the possibility of the creation of a dark alliance with dire consequences.
