Tillu Square

“Tillu Square” (stylized as (TILLU)²) is a 2024 Telugu romantic crime comedy movie directed by Mallik Ram. It’s produced by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas. This film is a sequel to the 2022 hit “DJ Tillu.” Siddhu Jonnalagadda returns as the main character, with Anupama Parameswaran as the female lead.

The movie was announced in June 2022, and filming started in August 2022. The music is composed by Ram Miriyala, Achu Rajamani, and Bheems Ceciroleo.

“Tillu Square” faced several delays due to post-production issues. It was initially set to release on February 9, 2024, but got postponed to avoid clashing with another film, “Eagle.” Finally, it was released on March 29, 2024, and received positive reviews from both critics and audiences. A third film in the series, titled “Tillu Cube,” is in the works.

Tillu Square Movie Storyline

After stealing money from drug lord Shannon, Tillu starts an event management company called Tillu Events, organizing DJs for parties and weddings. At one party, he meets Lilly Joseph and falls for her. They have a one-night stand, but Lilly leaves a note and disappears by morning, disappointing Tillu.

A month later, Tillu finds Lilly at a hospital while his father is having a colonoscopy. Lilly tells Tillu she is pregnant with his child, and they decide to get married. On Tillu’s birthday, Lilly takes him to an apartment where she reveals she’s searching for her missing brother Rohit, who was killed by Radhika a year earlier. She convinces Tillu to drive her and her colleague Purushotham to Rohit’s burial site. However, Tillu gets kidnapped by Shannon but is later rescued by Lilly, who kills Shannon’s men.

Lilly then reveals she isn’t pregnant or Rohit’s sister. She’s an undercover ISF agent assigned to kill Sheikh Mehboob, a notorious crime boss wanted by RAW. She used Tillu, who was invited to DJ at Mehboob’s party in Hyderabad, to get close to her target. Lilly blackmails Tillu with a video of him burying Rohit to force him to poison Mehboob at the party. She admits she developed real feelings for Tillu despite her mission.

On the day of Mehboob’s party, Tillu tries to flee Hyderabad with his family, but Lilly stops him, showing him a captive Radhika. Lilly threatens to imprison both Radhika and Tillu if he doesn’t cooperate. Radhika persuades Tillu to help Lilly for her sake. At the party, Tillu gives the poisoned sweets to Mehboob, but Mehboob, warned by his informant, detains Tillu, causing Lilly’s team to abort the mission. Mehboob beats Tillu and appears to kill him.

A week later, Lilly is shocked to see Tillu alive. Tillu explains that he escaped by making a deal with Shannon to poison the milk Mehboob drank. Mehboob released Tillu in exchange for the antidote. Tillu then tipped off the ISF chief, leading to Mehboob’s arrest once he got the antidote. Lilly is stunned as her mission was to kill Mehboob, but Tillu reveals that Lilly was Mehboob’s informant. She wanted Mehboob dead to keep her secret. Lilly gets arrested, and when she asks why Tillu saved Radhika but let her get caught, Tillu says Radhika deceived him out of love, while Lilly only loved him to deceive him. The story hints at continuing in “Tillu Cube.”
