“Crew” is a 2024 Indian Hindi-language heist comedy movie directed by Rajesh A Krishnan and written by Nidhi Mehra and Mehul Suri. It was produced by Ekta Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Digvijay Purohit under Balaji Motion Pictures and Anil Kapoor Films & Communication Network. The film stars Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon, with Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in supporting roles. The story follows three flight attendants who get caught up in a gold smuggling scheme.
Announced in November 2022, “Crew” began filming in March 2023 and wrapped up in February 2024. It was released in theaters on March 29, 2024, and received positive reviews from critics. The film was a hit, earning over ₹157 crore (US$20 million) worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing Hindi film and the seventh highest-grossing Indian film of 2024.

Geeta Sethi, Jasmine Kohli, and Divya Rana are flight attendants for Kohinoor Airlines, a company about to go bankrupt. The staff haven’t been paid in months, and the three friends, like the other employees, keep hoping things will get better. Geeta’s husband Arun runs a struggling food business from home, and she also has to support her unemployed brother and his wife. Jasmine, raised by her grandpa (Nanu) after her parents’ divorce, doesn’t believe in relationships, loves expensive things, and shows off a fake lifestyle on social media. Divya, trained as a pilot but forced to work as a flight attendant due to a lack of jobs, hides this from her family and struggles to repay her student loans.
When senior flight attendant Rajvanshi dies on duty, Geeta, Jasmine, and Divya discover a secret gold smuggling operation to a fictional country, Al Burj. Mr. Mittal, the HR Head of Kohinoor Airlines, is the mastermind behind the scheme. The three friends join the smuggling operation, and their financial situations improve: Geeta funds Arun’s food business and supports her brother, Jasmine retrieves Nanu’s pawned gold ring and buys things for herself, and Divya repays her student loans. Meanwhile, other airline employees are still struggling. Someone tips off customs officials about the smuggling, but the three women manage to hide their stash. However, being detained makes them feel ashamed and reconsider their choices.
Things get worse when Kohinoor Airlines goes bankrupt, leaving all employees unpaid. The airline’s owner, Vijay Walia, flees to Al Burj. Geeta, Jasmine, and Divya realize that Walia’s gold smuggling helped him settle comfortably in Al Burj. Feeling guilty, they decide to bring all the smuggled gold back to India to pay the employees what they’re owed.
